ITS roadside radio unit

Overview

The unit communicates with vehicles equipped with an on-board communication device that supports the 700 MHz band radio communication, and provides traffic information related to safe driving support such as traffic signal information. Using the 700 MHz band, the unit also forwards and relays traffic information and other information sent and received between other terminal devices.

Characteristics

  1. Able to perform vehicle-to-infrastructure and infrastructure-to-infrastructure communication via the 700 MHz band radio communication
  2. Provides DSSS services by connecting DSSS roadside sensors and traffic signal controllers
  3. Able to provide the PTPS control by receiving radio waves from PTPS vehicles
  4. Able to forward information between other ITS roadside radio units
